Nikki Knowles, LM, CPM

Hello all! My name is Nikki Knowles and I am a Licensed Midwife in the State of Texas. Before becoming a midwife, I worked as a doula for a little over 8 years in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I didn’t always live this crazy, rewarding life as a birth worker. My previous work environment consisted of working for Corporate Attorneys in a major Intellectual Property law firm in downtown Dallas.  After the birth of my first daughter in 2011, I knew my life was destined to take a different path. I had a beautiful, empowering birth with the help of my husband and doula and it was after that life changing moment I decided to switch careers. As a doula, I felt I was fulfilling my life’s purpose. Providing support to families during their most vulnerable time is one of the hardest and most rewarding things someone can do for another. A little after a year of having my second daughter, it was apparent to me that it was time to pay attention to the little voice that had been quietly nagging me for quite some time. In 2017, I decided that following year, I was going to pursue a career as a midwife. In January of 2018, I started my apprenticeship with a home birth based CNM in Frisco, Texas and had the honor of apprenticing under other CPM’s in the DFW area. Throughout my career, I have witnessed over 380 babies welcomed into the world and I look forward to many more!

During my years as a doula and student midwife, I had the opportunity to provide more exposure to the birth world and the importance of having support during childbirth. I have been interviewed by local and national magazines, featured on YouTube channels, news journals and national podcasts.

My goal for all my clients is for them to feel like they were seen and supported during their journey into parenthood. Traveling down this road can sometimes be overwhelming and confusing. My job is to alleviate that stress as much as I can, while providing great care to you. Clients that choose to deliver with me, can do so at the beautiful East Dallas Birth and Wellness birth center or in the comfort of your own home.

I wouldn’t be the person I am without the love and support of my amazing husband (fun fact: we met 23 years ago on a blind date) and two beautiful daughters. We are a family that lives a face-paced lifestyle and you can almost always find us at the newest restaurant in downtown Dallas or hanging at Klyde Warren Park! When we aren’t exploring the latest and greatest eatery, we enjoy hanging out on our rooftop grilling, dancing and making homemade pizzas!
